·       The first public reveal of the new Navara Stealth headlines Nissan’s agri-focused vehicle line-up at NAMPO Harvest Day 2025.

·       Visitors can also explore the Navara PRO-4X range, X-Trail, Premcar-engineered Navara PRO-4X Warrior, and the versatile Magnite Acenta compact SUV and Magnite Move Panel Van variants.

·       Nissan will demonstrate its long-term commitment to South Africa’s agricultural economy with expert talks and technical walk-arounds.

Nissan South Africa will again turn the spotlight on farm-tough bakkies when NAMPO Harvest Day opens its gates from 13 to 16 May. Making its debut at the Nampo Park grounds in Bothaville, the much-anticipated Navara Stealth will be a prime attraction for visitors on the lookout for the best bakkie in the agri-sector. The celebrated Navara PRO-4X single- and double-cab lines, the ever-reliable X-Trail, the newly released Premcar-developed PRO-4X Warrior, and the city-smart yet load-ready Magnite Acenta and Magnite Move Panel Van will also be on display.

Organised by Grain SA since 1967, NAMPO Harvest Day has evolved into southern Africa’s largest privately-run agricultural trade show, attracting a record 86,474 visitors and 865 exhibitors last year. For farmers considering which vehicles can best shoulder next season’s workload, NAMPO provides a key platform where every serious contender is lined up for an honest side-by-side comparison.

According to Maciej Klenkiewicz, Country Director for Nissan South Africa and Independent Markets Africa (IMA), “Every year, farmers come to NAMPO looking for answers to everyday challenges: how to manage rising input costs, how to keep workers mobile on difficult roads, and how to move feed or small livestock safely without the need for larger trucks.

“Nissan’s line-up continues to provide answers to these questions, providing farms with efficient, quality vehicles capable of carrying heavy loads on every road type with ease. As part of our long-term commitment to South Africa’s agricultural sector, we’re proud to be part of the event and to showcase some of the vehicles which make us a partner of choice in the sector.”

Revealing the new Navara Stealth

Visitors to the exhibit on Thursday, 13 May will be among the very first South Africans to see the new Nissan Navara Stealth in person. While its full technical specifications will remain under wraps until its official launch in July this year, the Stealth builds on the Navara’s reliable 2.5 DDTi engine and its rugged ladder-frame chassis, while introducing a bolder look and a purpose-built utility package ideally suited for the agricultural sector.

Isa Giunta, CMM General Manager for Nissan Africa explains: “We asked farmers what they want most out of a bakkie. Answers included a payload capacity that tops a tonne, power and traction that can handle climbs with a heavy load, suspension that can navigate washboard roads without shaking the cab apart, and sturdy, reliable electronics. The Navara meets each of these demands and more, while the Stealth improves on style and general appeal for an even more comfortable, premium feel all-terrain ride.”

Alongside the newcomer, Nissan will field both single- and double-cab Navara derivatives. Powered by a 140 kW, 450 Nm 2.5 DDTi engine, and calibrated through six- or seven-speed auto gearbox options, the Navara offers a 3,500kg braked towing capacity for more difficult jobs. Coil-spring multi-link rear suspension further delivers a smoother ride across rutted lands than traditional leaf setups, reducing fatigue for operators covering one hundred or more kilometres a day between fields.

For growers whose work involves daily rock-strewn river crossings or sandy patrols, the Premcar-engineered PRO-4X Warrior has an upgraded suspension system with greater ground clearance, a wider track for offroad stability, and LT-spec MAXXIS RAZR tyres.

Not every rural business requires a full-size bakkie. For seedling couriers, veterinary supply reps, and other smaller-scale agri-enterprises, Nissan will display the Magnite Move Panel, whose 690-litre load bay and 205mm ride height have already attracted a sizeable following in both urban and rural settings. At 5.9L/100km average fuel consumption, the 53kW three-cylinder petrol engine is ideal for daily circuits between remote farms and city centres.

“Whether you run a 3,000 hectare maize farm or a two-hectare market-garden, Nissan has a rugged, versatile on- and off-road option that will prove a perfect fit for you. Our team is ready and waiting to take visitors through the vehicles’ various technical specifications and capabilities,” notes Maciej.

“We look forward to inviting NAMPO visitors to experience firsthand how Nissan’s durable range can help drive their agricultural operations forward.”
